    Canterbury daily livestreamed evensong

Canterbury commenced daily evensong yesterday with admission of choristers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4gIZ_qhbGc

They will livestream all services on YouTube

It seems they aren't using the full choir at all, instead singing from the steps between the nave and quire, and alternating boys/girls/men so that there are around 10 singers for each service.

It will be interesting to see how other places organise things, I guess there'll be no singing from the stalls for some time.

When I first sang with a visiting choir at Canterbury, the choir sang at the Eucharist from those steps. After Saturday evensong, the members of the choir had to lug heavy wooden seats into place and once you were there it could be very awkward processing in and out at Communion. On more recent visits I noticed this arrangement had been discontinued - I doubt that it would have stood up to modern health and safety requirements.
