BIG acoustic? Anyway, LA on Sunday and see what you think. Choir not at all bad, some good strong voices.

In spite of my earlier reluctance to "Listen Again" rather than waiting for Sunday's repeat, I did listen this morning, using a good pair of headphones. The experience was very different, when compared with listening in the flesh.
Reverberation was limited, as I expected, by close microphone placing.
The balance between choir and organ was altered - in the Priory, the mighty organ could overwhelm the 30+ choir in places.
Much of the impact of the Mag and Nunc was lost on radio . This was a big disappointment.

Re comment 11, the Three Choirs broadcast is live next week. I am looking forward to it.

And, EA, given how much those pieces relied on air and space to make their point in, rather a shame for radio listeners? Trouble is that the RSCM team could not possibly have foreseen what transmission would do to their choice of music.
