            ..therefore even better for local people that services are broadcast live. BTW Mr Bielby must surely be one of the longest serving DOMs. I see he is 'Emeritus'. Does this mean he's standing in for someone?

              Wakefield Cathedral website suggests that the broadcast itself is cancelled.

                He retired in 2010! The current DOM is Thomas Moore, who he's presumably standing in for.

                  An emeritus professor giving a lecture isn't (necessarily) standing in for anyone: it's a title given because of a previously held position.

                        The Wakefield broadcast has been replaced with an archive one from Birmingham Cathedral. I have placed the details in a new thread. I guess we are going to be seeing even more archive broadcasts in the near future.
