RIP Derek Barsham
I was at the book launch mentioned at the end of the linked article and heard Derek sing with Harry Sever. A wonderful event.
The book is well worth getting as is the Amphion series.

Evidently, according to one obituary I read, he used to appear regularly on radio in the children's hour programme and on one occasion during world war two his spot was moved from its usual place to the end of the hour just before the six o'clock news. He was later given a recording and told by presenter 'Uncle Mac' that this was a coded message to our troops in Normandy.
