Is there any chance of anyone posting the private eye report?

It isn't the full article (that which is on that web page...). In the print edition there is more, including heavy criticism of the Archbishop, and reference to the standard retirement age, which in his case is not far off. (Not that Westminster Cath. is related to my world at all so this is looking in from the outside).

Its the 24 Jan - 6 Feb issue which I found on the shelves today....

Ahem.............not the first, and one might surmise not the last crisis for the Drome bailiwick.

Apologies if this has already been covered but has any evidence been given to support the 'parents don't want their children to board' claim, as it specifically applies to the choristers? In other words has recruitment been a problem with boarding being the reason cited?

                            It doesn't say very much!

The New Statesman article is far more revealing - and troubling.

I have no inside knowledge, but it is probable that views among parents of choristers will vary. Some of those who live within striking distance of The Drome may welcome the change to weekly boarding. Having said that, they were expecting 7-day boarding when they signed up and there's been no evidence of clamour from parents on that score. The principal argument is that WCC is the UK's leading RC choir, and membership of it will now be denied to those living North of Watford or West of Staines. Unless, that is, one proposes a very long, tiring, expensive and definitely un-green journey twice a week.
