Royal Wedding - Fri 12th October 2018 St George's Chapel, Windsor

Admittedly this service wasn't covered at all by the BBC - let alone Radio 3 - other than in the news. But I'm sure some of its contents will be of interest to some on this forum.

It was broadcast live on ITV1 during 'This Morning' which began at 9.25am, the service being at 11am. https://www.itv.com/hub/tv-guide

The order of service may be found here: https://www.royal.uk/official-order-...ack-brooksbank

    Music within the service included:

    Ave Maria (Bach/Gounod)
    Panis angelicus (Franck)
    A Gaelic Blessing (Rutter)
    Ubi caritas (Duruflé)
My spirit sang all day (Finzi)

I saw the top hat of one of the attendees being blown off and rolling across a street. No doubt someone will recommend that a famous nearby college replace the now-surely to be deemed dangerous game of Eton Fives with one called Roll the Topper. Participants line up to roll their top hats. The furthest distance attained is the winner. Penalty points for cheating include taking advantage of any wind gusts in the vicinity, particularly those emitting from gushing BBC and other TV reporters.

I think I might record the TV news tonight so that I can fast forward to avoid any of the inevitable gushing. Was Nicholas Witchell wheeled out again?
What will be the top story tonight - the Windsor wedding, Brexit or the latest 'Strictly' scandal?
Cost of security for today's event - £2 million. Cost of security for Trump's visit - £18 million. Hard to say which was the better (or less worse) option.

Not on BBC1 lunchtime news this time - and isn't he getting to look old?? - nor for that matter Jenny Bond, who was on Jeremy Vine on CH4 earlier on, commenting on the occasion in a **diplomatically non-partisan** way.

Whenever Mr Witchell, Mr Hunt, Mr Dymond or Miss/Mrs/Ms Bond appear on my radio or TV, I simply CAN'T help shouting 'Get a REAL job'.

Yes he was! The female royal correspondent did the piece to camera, followed by Witchell doing a really quite funny commentary on them arriving, hats blowing off, Philip having to be in close proximity to Fergie whom he has strenuously avoided for 25 years..... Considering the Beeb wasn't actually covering it, having turned it down, I thought he struck just the right note. I think they only keep him in that job to annoy Brian, as we know what Brian thinks of him.

Quite a ... errm ... brave display of flowers for this one Just a bit crowded and multi-coloured for me.

Must be a caption competition here if anybody wants to start one ...

Didn't know she was fussy about the pronounciation of her name. Eugeunie, not Eujaynee.
And the tune ends too soon for us all

Then I must have been distracted by the flying top hat! Either that or I just didn't recognise poor old Witchell. Apologies - either way.

The second maybe sounds a bit too much like "eugenics" - though for the life of me I can't imagine what the connection there could possibly be.....

I caught a BBC news item which mentioned the events at St Georges Cathedral.........

One of the parties concerned might, in the event of a "Kind Hearts and Coronets" scenario, yet end up as Queen Currently, she's 9th
