Looks like a rare outing for Psalm 78 in its entirety.

That's a million plus points in advance from me

Is anybody else getting as bad stops and blips etc on reception as me both online and via radio?
Weather where I am is windy and stormy, but...........??
            Puzzled.

Yes I’m getting the same and the weather is calm here. Seems to be noticeable in the sung sections and not speech.

Phew! Was wondering if my kit was about to explode.
Yes, singing mix is pretty badly affected.
And they are taking the whole service at breakneck speed - readings / cantoring like shopping lists. Hmm.

Yes, there was an apology at the end by which time, I’d checked my new set-up’s wiring.

Impossible to concentrate and enjoy any aspect of the Service. A disaster!

Rather a quick dismissal of the technical glitches from PG without further explanation. Good to know one’s radio isn’t about to blow up; listening on headphones I felt someone was tapping on the left hand can - scary
I hope the repeat is ok as it will be good to assess the service without distractions. As DracoM said above all a bit breathless.

Yes, I got this - thought it was the water company digging outside our house or a misconnected speaker!

Sadly the technical glitches are still there on the iplayer and rather spoiled what would otherwise have been a well-sung evensong, the choir have a good balance and sweet tone. Personally, I didn't think everything was rushed or gabbled. The diction in the psalm was fine. Not a great fan of the Mendelsohn but hey.

Yes, Chris, I too wondered if the Mendelssohn showed the choir off in its best light, but chacun a .............etc etc. Not my taste either.
Presumably the recording for Sunday repeat should be a better version?

Both the Mendelssohn pieces were new to me and deserve repeated hearings to appreciate more fully. Loved the Litaize vol. and all of the Revd Jeffcoat's playing: tremendous work in psalm 78 of course. Must be 15 years + since I last heard him before he decamped to Brisbane. Very glad we have his multiple talents in closer reach. Obvious question though, despite being an old chorister of Edinburgh, why was he the accompanist here?
