Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I wasn't aware that the Church ever legislated on the colour of the bride's dress.
But then, I was also astonished to learn that Ms Markle had been married before (I just did a bit of online research following ds's query)I clearly don't read the right newspapers - or listen to the BBC
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Mind you, I imagine that when groom is the son of the monarch, a certain leniency is exercised.

On a musical note and almost back on thread Petroc Trelawney played the Spiritual 'There Is a Balm in Gilead ' mentioned in the sermon , in the version by Paul Robeson on Breakfast yesterday . There is an even better version (I think ) from Mahalia Jackson on YouTube . According to Wiki it was she , standing behind Martin Luther King , who prompted the semi - improvised "I have a Dream ... " section of his famous speech by shouting the words "tell them about the dream " . Who says musicians don't make a difference ?

I hope the reference didn't make too many people think about the Handmaid's Tale.
(It did sound like bomb to me, but I quickly realised I must be mistaken.)
