I too look forward to CE from Norwich Cathedral next week: I'm afraid that I'm a great fan of Kenneth Leighton's music, and do have a lot of his stuff on CD, including his Cello Concerto and his Symphony No 3 on Chandos conducted by Jack Thomson, the sacred music obviously on Naxos, and his piano works played by Eric Parkin on Abacus (ABA 402-2) if anybody is interested. There were rumors that this was only the first volume but I've no success in finding any outlets selling his music.

Having demonstrated his dubious cooking skills on national television by being thrown out of Masterchef in the first round, AG is my tip for KCC. An all-round great guy, marathon runner and fine musician, he was a chorister and organ scholar at King’s. This choice of ‘big’ music will indicate what he has achieved at Norwich after five and a half years in post.

Might be of some passing interest, if you can get past the adverts. Odd contribution in the comments section.
Norwich Cathedral is one of the city's finest landmarks and one of its greatest treasures is its music. On the day BBC Radio 3 visits to broadcast…

A shameful comment. Did the poster assume that cathedral organists are rich, or more to the point that kids in general receiving treatment at Great Ormond Street are somehow 'privileged'? Good for Mr Grote for raising money for a cause close to his heart.

The writer of the comment was presumably talking about this:

A £2.5m fundraising appeal is under way to ensure music continues to be enjoyed at Norwich Cathedral long into the future.

To date about £700,000 has been raised for the Music Appeal which has the Earl of Wessex as patron
                            rather than this:

Norwich Cathedral’s master of music will be swapping his cassock for a bear suit and running shoes as he prepares to pound the capital’s streets in the London Marathon this SundayApril 22.

It will be Ashley Grote’s fourth London Marathon raising funds for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, and for the first time he will be running as the charity’s mascot, Bernard the Bear.

If the former, then one thinks of Jesus' feet and/or head being anointed by a 'sinful woman' with very expensive ointment and His response [....and that from agnostis ardcarp].
