Well if that's the case, it's quite remarkable as I believe Donal is the junior organ scholar and is only in his second term at King's. Where else on R3 than on Choral Evensong would you hear such supremely musical playing of a masterpiece on a live broadcast by someone who was still at school studying for A levels less than a year ago?

I am sure that all here will be shocked at the news of the accident suffered by Stephen Cleobury earlier this week when he was hit by a cyclist and, so I’m led to believe, suffered a fractured skull. He was soon out of intensive care, and is making a rapid recovery. The following announcement was posted by the choir on their Facebook page yesterday:

The Provost of King’s College, Cambridge, Professor Mike Proctor, has confirmed the reports that Stephen Cleobury is currently recovering from an accident.

“Our warmest thoughts are with Stephen and his family and we wish him a speedy return to full health. We know he is keen to be back with us and look forward to his return when his recovery is complete.”

One can only echo the words of the Provost. I've also been hit by a cyclist in Cambridge so I can sympathise. These people have no regard for the rules of the road and perhaps the City authorities will now look at ways to curb this nuisance.

Been several times, had a closer acquaintance with one of the streets than I would have liked due to aforementioned cyclist but ... a forlorn hope, I know.
