From a reliable source, I have heard that the King's post has been filled- I will not name names here, as I think the announcement should come through the proper channels and in due time, but the future would appear to be in very good hands.

I too have heard who is taking over. In my mind it is the correct and only choice.

King’s is a dynamic and diverse College in the heart of Cambridge. Founded in 1441 by King Henry VI and recognised for its iconic Chapel, King's has a proud history of independent thought and offers a friendly and forward-thinking community to applicants from all backgrounds.

        Well, well................

Amazed no-one seems to have picked this up! Was announced UK at 2 p.m.

They all knew already (they would have us believe).

Bit of an assumption there, Jean. I, for one, knew nothing until I read the announcement.

Those of us who work in the world of cathedral/collegiate music know what a small world it is, and how quickly news about appointments and the like tends to get around on the grapevine.

Perhaps the new director of music , who is very welcome and I am sure will be a terrific success should make his first act to use the large King's endowment fund to help get the Gonville and Caius organ tuned ? It sounded a bit the worse for wear on an otherwise enjoyable Choral Evensong.
