Just bought this and it is magnificent: not in any way the CCCOx sound in this kind of repertoire, but a huge, rich, slow moving exploration by choir / conductor that knows its Latin liturgy, can sustain intensity, and really goes for it.

As the saying goes, 'I'll Google that for you".... If you do so, here's one example of what's online.

Thank you, Wolsey. It looks like it's Haynes's 1995 thesis I really need. Fortunately it's available on ProQuest (at a price).

Was able to hear the Sunday repeat, and so glad I did - 'that's the way to do it' as they say!
Incidentally Mr Skelly was extolling the virtues of choral evensong this morning, listing some of what's on offer today and suggesting recourse to choralevensong.org to find 'one near you'.

Hmm... The perils of un-moderated self-promotion. At least links are given so that you can (perhaps) find out more.

I'm sorry but I don't understand your comment.

As I understand it, any church can add itself to this site and no vetting or judgements take place. What a church considers to be a Choral Evensong and how often one is sung varies. In some cases, it consists of no more than the occasional anthem - you will discover this sooner or later if you follow enough of the links given. Our local parish church is listed. The choir there sings an anthem most weeks and that is considered to constitute a Choral Evensong, but the standard is not high. The term means different things to different people.

I had never heard of this website, but on consulting it I discover to my alarm that I am singing Choral Evensong on February 11th. This is the first I'd heard of it!

Thank you, I see the point of the 'self-promoting' part of your comment now.
Perhaps if those using the site as a result of Mr Skelly's mention voice their feedback to the site or the organisers then some element of judgement could emerge?
