A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols - Monday 25 December 2017 (from R4 24.12.17)

Well, not a ballot but a ticketed system in place this year, Petrushka:

Then people will start lining up to be first in line for opening up at 730.... Black Friday and the January Sales all rolled into one.

That's very interesting. I wonder if the Dean is a reader of this Forum Mind, a ballot would still be the most sensible option and KCC might come round to it sometime in the next century.

Alas, it would be near impossible for me to get back home on Christmas Eve given the early finishing times on the trains and I'm not sure I want to stay in a hotel on Christmas Day!

.... so expect a queue of 500 outside at about 6:30am to ensure entry ?

I attended one year with about a foot of snow on the ground and nearly froze to death queuing for six hours. That position only just got me into the chapel so I was about as far from the choir as it is possible to be, making the quieter passages of music inaudible. So, all-in-all, not a particularly magical experience.

To my surprise, I can find no details from either the BBC or King's on the details of the service.
I will post the order of service as soon as I can reliably resource it.
