Looking forward to this fascinating mix of repertoire. Though I'm not such a fan of Walton, Pärt, Radcliffe or Walker. Bit modern for me. Plainsong however is what I really tune in for.

Why three conductors? Is it like the three tenors?

Or the Three Choirs, in his case?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

No, nothing like the Three Choirs Festival, but it has three choirs

Because there are 3 separate choirs at the Edington Festival - Schola, Nave and Consort (https://www.edingtonfestival.org/music/the-choirs/).

Do thy use sticks ar Edington, DracoM?
I had imagined that they coaxed their forces with flicks of their fingers.

Well at least one of them is a forum member, so perhaps he'll let us know!

Wow! Loved the Walker commission and the soloists in the Walton were excellent. Does anyone know who they were? Excellent readers too... what a fab broadcast!
