Having missed the opening, the responses made me think "girls' choir"

SWMBO walked past in the corridor during the psalms, and said "Is that a girls' choir?"

Which again makes me wonder how it's possible that some people claim there's no difference in the sound of boys and girls, and also further demonstrates that the girls' voices dominate in a mixed choir.

Not trying to be controversial, the sound is lovely (and also lovely rolling bass on the organ). SWMBO observed when questioned that the girls have a "brighter, softer, more earnest tone".

Make of that what you will.....

The front line's tone / confidence / ambition is IMO the best of this ensemble, partic in the Stanford.

I was in my car, and it sounded delightful - particularly enjoyed the lively and joyful interpretation of the Smith responses and the psalm singing was very good indeed!
