OK singing, but I fear I found it pretty dull and monochrome as well.

Yes, precisely my feelings. Some fine voices, and as ever, I'm fascinated by Church Slavonic, but I couldn't get past the relentless sound.

Sounded to be a largish choir singing at near maximum volume in an over resonant acoustic. Result: rather a mush of sound with words very rarely distinguishable. Music: a mix of standard chant sung in a highly mannered way and not-quite-the worst of the late Romantic "operatic" style of Russian Orthodox compositions. Commentary mostly bordering on the banale, sometimes interrupting the flow where there is (or should be) no liturgical gap, and containing several errors (as well as giving little useful information).
