I am SO sorry Scott - and I haven't had a drink since Thursday. Maybe that's the problem.

Truly humiliating. Still, it has it's comedy value, and my thoughts remain unchanged even if I clearly can't navigate my way out of a paper bag.

While we have Mr Farrell here, I was wondering whether the Ferguson of the first chant was William Harold Ferguson, of hymn-tune-writing fame?

Hi, no it was the great Barry Ferguson of Rochester fame (1977-1994). Barry even sent us a text before the broadcast and a very generous thank you card afterwards.

A superb evensong where the music and spoken liturgy dovetailed beautifully. I loved the expressive flexibility of the singing, alert to each nuance of the text, a reminder to me of GG's style at St John's. I found the end very moving with the transition from the Wills to the consolation of the Rutter with the excellent, fearless soloist, and then the calm beginning of the voluntary leading to an ecstatic conclusion. Thank you Rochester, one to cherish.

              Thanks for the clarification.

I think we're all going to be looking forward to the next broadcast from Rochester!

It's great that most iplayer radio CE's now have a picture of the choristers so you can visualise them as they sing. Rochester look a smiley, happy lot except for the big boy at the back who looks right gloomy. Who he Scott?
