I can sympathise too. I wonder if Jeremy Corbyn is reading this.

When I was watching that nostalgic program about Les Dawson on TV last night, I was reminded of the front row
          of The Bournemouth Municipal Choir.

          I wonder why?

Seriously though - Thank Frankie and all the caretakers of the R3 Forum.

Merry Christmas to all our readers!

Are you suggesting that he should apply for frenchie's job?

I don't know what the Hosts would do … oops! well, it's Christmas. I don't want to give a running commentary on negotiations behind the scenes, but I may issue a short statement later …
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Well, better even that than David Cameron doing so, especially given how little he knows about either music or politics!...

Anyway, may I echo the sentiments of all those who appreciate the energies that you've put into the management of and contributions to this forum? I'm sure that all will be sorry to see you go. Somehow, though, I don't quite see you "retiring"!...

It's that "broad public school education" people speak so highly of, and pay likewise for, especially at Eton.

The phenomenon is so well known in Wales (not entirely surprisingly) that it even has a name: cythraul canu (lit. "the devil of singing").

Blame not Eton but the Etonian when blame is due; my MP went to Eton and so did Jonathan Powell (the pianist, I mean, not the ex-Blair sidekick)...

Sounds a bit like lèse-majesté to me!

Indeed. It's a very long time since I left Wales though!
