Season's Greetings to all The Choir posters.

The choir of Westminster Cathedral sing Morten Lauridsen's stunningly beautiful setting of O Magnum Mysterium during Midnight Mass 2009. O magnum mysteriumet...

Lauridsen lurches a bit into the sentimental maybe, but accept it as thanks for this year's never-a-dull-moment stint on The Choir.

I still like it, despite its sentimentality, and am slightly disappointed not to have the opportunity of singing it this year. Having said that, I did go off it a bit a couple of years ago when it was enjoying a degree of ubiquity. Singing it began to feel a bit of a slog. I miss it now though - call me fickle if you will.

As a contributor to the never-a-dull-momentness, I wish you many blessings this Christmas.

Thanks Draco...and greetings from me too.

Sometime in the last few days on R3 (sorry, can't remember where or when) some Lauridsen pieces were interleaved between movements of a Martinu string quartet. Can anyone remember it, 'cos I'd like to listen again.

The power of Google enables me to bring this Christmas present to you, ardcarp. Sunday Morning on, er Sunday morning. After the point at which I have to get out of the car and rehearse, so thanks for drawing my attention to it. Good playlist all in all.

Thanks utct! Correction...the Martinu Madrigals (wonderful pieces!) are duos for violin and viola and not string quartet as I mistakenly said.
