With the demise of Matins I suppose the only chance many choirs get to sing the Te Deum regularly is as an anthem at Evensong or as a concert item. How very sad.

They have sung Matins at ChChOx.

I also think the Walton is a great piece and worthy of broadcasting... It was also written for them! Looking forward to this already.

          Was it?
Were Christ Church part of the Coronation Choir?

My bad, I hadn't had a coffee then; I'm on about Walton's Jubilate being written for ChChOx.

I see that even after last year's debacle over the spelling of Alexander Pott's name, the BBC has nevertheless contrived to spell Clive Driskill-Smyth's name incorrectly.

                  So it's with a 'y' not 'i'?
                  I will amend if yes.

                      Thx.
                      So listing above is correct?

                          Gentle reminder: today @ 3.30 p.m.

I always wonder how DoMs view broadcasting CE late-ish in the academic year when presumably there must be at least a chance that some bright treb's voice - hitherto a leader and shining star - has gone. Make sure you've bred a clutch of wannabes ready to take the lead?

Or just get the girls to do the gig instead?

(Sorry, that was impossible to resist...)

Terrible suggestion jean. Fortunately Christ Church is one of the final bastions holding out against the introduction of girls' choirs.
