                          that programme booklet seems to indicate quite a close relationship between Britten and the King's choir whereas previously I thought I'd read that Britten didn't particularly like the 'pure English cathedral sound'.

                            Britten certainly did like the Westminster Cathedral sound, which in those days was very different from King's.
