              A firm date in my diary too. This service is always the signal for the Christmas countdown and looking forward to singing along with my customary gusto to Helmsley, surely one of the best ever hymn tunes. No neighbours to worry about so will let rip!

                    Live in an end terrace house with my listening room at the non-neighbour end so, as I absolutely hate using headphones, I'm very lucky. As are the neighbours.

                      It seems to have been a few years since Gibbons' This is the record of John has been sung. A pity, I think. Does anyone know why it's dropped off the radar?

                        Usually done when there is an exceptional counter tenor in the backrows. I'm sure it will make a comeback soon.

                              On topic - I enjoyed this service. A good helping of Howells always helps. Well sung all round, I thought.
