Two requests to remove the discussion about Salisbury Cathedral and Magna Carta to a new thread; now on Platform 3.

CE Southern Cathedrals Festival 5th Aug 2015, as per OP.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Well the Moody anthem was certainly great fun!

Highly recommended is John Challenger's recent CD from Regent 'Elgar from Salisbury'.

I guess everyone must be on holiday.

Really enjoyed the singing. Assuming all three choirs fielded a full team, I imagine there would have been 45+ trebles and 24+ men?
The highlight for me was the Leighton mag and nunc; great pace and vitality. I also enjoyed the anthem very much. In a way it reminded me slightly of Gowers' Viri galilaei.
Superb accompaniments throughout and the Howells at the end was magnificent (apart from the engineers "squashing" the tubas at the end!).

Another fine "three choirs" Festival following on from The TCF last week. The Moody was the highlight for me but I liked it all.

Liked the close of the Moody.
Leighton to my ears just a bit lacking in spontaneity, as if all were under a very tight rein.
Men sounded very young to me? Gave it their all.
