Looking forward to hearing the 73 verses of Psalm 78, including feathered fowls, lice, flies, frogs, caterpillar, grasshopper and ewes, set for the fifteenth evening sung by our neighbouring cathedral choir in the foreign land across the Tamar.

Very much enjoyed the psalm singing - very clear words and a lot of thought given to the meaning of the words so plenty of variation - it sounded as if the choir was really enjoying itself getting the sense across.

I quite agree, and this is largely because Exeter sing the psalms appointed in the BCP for the day, Morning/Evening. Therefore they sing all seventy-three verses on every fifteenth evening every month in term time. Since they sing on Saturdays and Truro don't, I crossed the Tamar one Sat 15th especially to hear the psalm. I wasn't disappointed. The Assistant Organist, who was conducting on that occasion, is now an honorary Cornishman, under whose direction I had the great pleasure of singing my final term as a Lay Vicar. Terrific Howells Gloucester as well, the 32' pedal reed making its presence felt in the Gloria of the Nunc at 'as it was' followed by that ecstatic soaring treble line (probably the senior boys and girls) - a tingle factor 10/10 moment.
