Some juvenilia have recently been discovered, and a few snatches featured on News at 10 sung by Gloucester Cathedral. Quite something for Parry to be fitted in to the news village's agenda of politics and war.

Yes, I saw that as it went out live, and was quite taken aback: it normally takes a Royal Wedding or a State Funeral to get a cathedral choir on to News at Ten. But congratulations are due to Sir CHHP - one has truly reached 'National Treasure' status when the auction of unheard juvenilia scores is mentioned on the BBC's flagship News.Comment
