I'm not sure if the October televising of Under Milkwood was discussed anywhere on the Forum, but having just seen our own recording of it for the first time, I was intrigued to see Charlotte Church as Mrs O-P and Katherine Jenkins as Polly Garter. These young super-stars often come in for a bit of stick, but both played their parts superbly, and KJ sang Polly Garter's song (Little Willy Wee) very beautifully, simply and affectingly. Alas no longer available on i-player.

Agreed, you can't beat that vintage radio version....and it was intended as a radio play. Having said that I saw a wonderful 'staged' performance of it at the Minack Theatre in Cornwall (years and years ago) and it was most atmospheric. It was a balmy evening and you could just imagine No Good Boyo lolling in his boat in the bay. (I thought the spiv in the car in last week's version did not quite ring true.)
