Ever since this thread came on I have been trying to remember the name of William Appleby's accompanist - I think it was Miss Avis - and I think it was Marjorie - but then googling can only find her as a soprano so maybe I've got it wrong - does anyone know better?

Was it not Wilfrid parry?

I was about to ask if the "Mr Bevan" being asked to sing was Maurice Bevan of the Deller Consort, but scrolling down to the bottom of this link page reveals indeed it was (and that Wilfred Parry was indeed the pianist)

I think I recognised Ann Driver's voice asking me to run on tippy-toes - if she was still doing that in the 1960's which was my primary era
