The Choir had over 30 minutes to go when I sent my message.

Perhaps they're offline too? (Being plastered for two days sounds more 'out of line' than offline to me. )

I was mistaken in saying the 83111 is the same for local radio stations. Their common number is 81333.

But my text to R3 was to the correct one.

Having tried before, very, very strong impression is that they do not include, mention, refer to nor reply to anything that is not in praise. And I fear the Beeb is not above concocting tweets / emails that neatly sets up a feature of a programme.

IIRC, there was a bit of a smoking gun about this on Feedback some years ago

I think they might be more careful since Blue Petergate

Also "Psalm 151" in the introduction !!!!

                And the usual non-Allegri version.

If you hear what Allegri actually wrote and nothing else (i.e. no ornamentation), the result is also pretty yawn-inducing actually.

Agreed, but versions of more appropriate ornamentaion are now available.

Just in case R3 production team breathes a sigh of relief and think we've given in and accepted the riches in the new format, the silence at least on my part is because I've simply given up listening to the third rate betrayal that masquerades as R3's care and attention to the Choral world.

That's Radio 3 - hell-bent on betraying its core audience in the vain hope they might pinch a few CFM listeners.

                              I have absolutely no idea.

An interesting piece by Berio, followed by only a single movement from a Bach cantata. And then "something very different" - a 1936 recording of Radio 2 music - hardly the "new" and "up-to-date" image the programme is trying to fool us into believing.
