I've just sent a text, expressing my views. Guess what. It was declared undeliverable, even though I followed instructions to the letter.

I send 5 a day sometimes but I've never had undeliverable. Never had any reply at all but that doesn't surprise me.

If the recipient has blocked the sender, the sender receives the "undeliverable" message. If Ena has sent hate-texts previously (which is possible ...), she may well have been blocked on that occasion.

Yes, but that is the standard BBC text number, covering all local radio stations. There needs to be a prefix for every message. I tried "R3", but that didn't work either.

P.S. this was my first ever text to Radio 3.

On the contact page for R3, with all the separate programmes listed, the only one giving text as an option (as opposed to email, phone, fax, tweet, etc) is Breakfast, where the number is indeed just 83111:

The best of the BBC, with the latest news and sport headlines, weather, TV & radio highlights and much more from across the whole of BBC Online

So perhaps all the texts they read out are fictitious.

Oh don't be silly, this is the BBC, they wouldn't do that.

Are texts only accepted when the programmes are on air?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
