Please note that this is EASTER SUNDAY's CE, so the Chichester CE is now available only on iPlayer and presumably will not be repeated on air.

Did this one pass everyone by then? You've a matter of hours to listen again...

Nicely done all round. The Lheritier was good but seemed a bit sombre for Festal Evensong on Easter Day! The Walton is highly ideosyncratic, and brought off with conviction by all concerned. An interesting juxtaposition at the end, from Howells' marvellous Te Deum directly into Simon Preston's Messiaen-esque voluntary - both fine pieces in their own right, but together?!

Must be a hard gig for a live service, when your choir will have been singing a lot over the last week or so. Well done to all at Chester for bringing this one off.

I've been trying to listen on i-player since your reminder, Philip, and sadly I can't get it to stream. Whether it's a BBC problem or our rickety rural broadband connection, I'm not sure. Time is running out.....
