Learning that Brassbandmaestro is to do a re-arrangement of Mahler 6 movement 1 has massively raised the respect in which I hold him. Next we'll be learning that he's been approached for a reduction of The Gothic!

EDIT: this arrangement, by Richard Saucedo, appears also to be an abridgement - so there's room for an arrangement of the whole Movement!
RE-EDIT: There's also another arrangement of the Movement by Jimmie Howard Reynolds, but the youTube clip isn't clear whether this is also an abridgement, or whether the clip is an extract from the complete movement.

Actually arranged and conducted by Jonathan Tunick 1975 and I guess he was familiar with Mahler 3. Let's not get snobby - Mahler's compositions had their share of schmaltz. I have for a long time liked Judy's version of this as also I have 'Where or When' from 1979 'Hard Times for Lovers' album.Originally posted by Serial_Apologist View Post
