    These puns are getting silly, I'm going to stop posting any more of them. I'm turning over a new leif.

      Why not turn over a new Beef?

        I did in Sept 2013 (and added an exclamation mark!)

          Perhaps it's true that those who don't like Seger-
          stam in Bruckner might prefer his Reger;
          In Nielsen, Sibelius and Petter-
          sson he is unquestionably better
          Than most - but might the Leif of Brian beckon
          With a new Gothic? well, folks, what d'you reckon?
          I daresay that, while I've been versifying,
          He's penned another symphony. How trying!

                        After his performance of the Bruckner, are we to take it that Segerstam has also been having HIP trouble?

                          Well, he did perform it with an unusually large orchestra...

                            That's what happens when you get your HIP replaced. Your nice chamber orchestra of equals becomes a blooming great symphony orchestra needing a big ego crazed Brian Blessed lookalike to direct it aright.

                            Although Segerstam doesn't let conductors near his own music. There might be a whiff of irony about that...
