Yes, a friend of mine and I were thinking of going to hear the Ninth Symphony. It’s a bit of a treck from Edinburgh to Newcastle and back again in one day so it’ll probably involve an overnight stay.

Good to see there are at least some £5 tickets, which might encourage new listeners. It reminds me of when I used to go to the Halle and sit in the side circle for six shillings to hear sometimes Barbirolli, Wolfgang Schneiderhan and once even Carlo Maria Guilini. .
