Pace Smittims I would consider a Lincolnshire Posy to be Grainger's masterpiece, particularly in the military band arrangement. I would add that it's a very dangerous approach to judge a composer's merits on the basis of what is played on Radio 3 these days!

Exposure over the years to Grainger's music - and it crops up reasonably often these days, especially on 'Breakfast on 3' - has been more than enough for me to come to my undoubtedly misguided judgement that it is, simply, not for me. That is not to deny that Grainger had a remarkable skill as an arranger/orchestrator - viz. 'La Vallée des Cloches' and the arrangement of 'Danny Boy'. À chacun son goût.
