I was at the first concert of the Barbican's Total Immersion day today. Not my sort of music. There was a long piece for violin and piano which I didn't enjoy one bit, a piece for solo cello which was pleasant enough but seemed to be a Scelsi rip off, a setting of the Jewish prayer book for soprano and flute which I found painful (painful music and painful lyrics, it was about how man is the best thing in creation next to the angels), and a setting of Miranda berating Prospero for having made a nasty tempest -- the latter rather nice in fact, for harp, double bass, clarinet, something else and soprano.

She is ill, unfortunately. And has been for a while -- there was an interview scheduled but she pulled out about three weeks ago.

Would it be possible for the Powers That Be to change the thread heading to show Kaija as having died this year (2 June), please?

      Thanks in advance.
