Thanks - I didn't realise that Presto have a sheet music section. Looks good.

I once had an Argo LP of Kenneth Gilbert playing selections of the keyboard pieces - that was the first time I made my acquaintance with them.

I need to add this lady's keyboard pieces to my collection. So far I've managed to hear clips of various versions, and the one that appeals to me most (sound-wise particularly) is that of Elizabeth Farr on Naxos. Anyone else got any advice?

Have you listened to the CD by Blandine Verlet? Hers is the one I like most from those I've heard.

... my top recommendation is Carole Cerasi - I find her spell-binding :

Thanks Vints....I was going to go for her, but found Elizabeth Farr's recording much more resonant, and that appeals to me. Maybe I will have to get both!

You’ll certainly will enjoy this composer’s music as I have playing.

A case for streaming - or perhaps not. Blandine Verlet - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Guerre-Harp...re+Blandine+CD Currently £72 (used), £169 (new)

I really dislike the disappearance of CDs into "the cloud". This is a really significant issue for this music. I know JLW will disagree - I'm a dinosaur - I don't like being forced to stream or download if I don't have to.

I ordered the Cerasi version recommended by vints.

Re the Farr version, currently looks like Presto beats am.uk on price, though it's probably possible to stream for free if one has access to the Naxos music library.

I'm sure I will! I notice there are another two new versions now making up the list: Marie van Rhijn and Elisabetta Guglielmin, both new names to me. It's all getting very confusing as to which one to choose....

I did give it a listen, Richard...she is indeed a fine harpsichordist, but her recording is far too closely miked for me. This is why up to now I am leaning towards the Elizabeth Farr Naxos set, as the instrument is further away. That's just my personal choice, of course!

Fair enough. I do quite like close harpsichord recordings myself.
