Handley had an officiial post with the BBC CO - one of those 'made-up' titles. "Regular conductor 'cause we like him". Greatest moment I suppose was a Prom where they did RVW6 to great acclaim!

Last night's excellent performance of the 5th symphony at the RAH, and the limited availability of recordings, lead me to wonder in passing whether anybody out there knows why Naxos released a fine performance of just the 2nd symphony.
