Stirring? Fortunately 2 of the Frankfurt Gang were born into a silver-spoon existence - so useful in a 'bread and pullet' kitchen.

I hope that Naxos have taken a bit more care over it than they did with the similar English Choral Music (St John's Cambridge) set, which I bought partly to save space, but also because the cost at the time was little more than it would have been to buy the separate CDs I didn't already have (but was interested in). The cardboard slipcases had very poor artwork compared to the original CD inserts, some of the track information was wrong or missing, and of course you don't get the liner notes or texts (though I downloaded the texts from their website).
In the case of the Songs, I think I've got all those that I'm particularly interested in (though actually not the Quilter!).

That might partly explain Prommers who resort to mobile phone lights to read text settings, then. See my Grumble Thread comment.

Getting back on topic, I’m trying to locate a full score of Quilter’s Children’s Overture. It doesn’t appear to be on sale anywhere and IMSLP only has the reduced chamber version. It’s possible to reconstruct it from the orchestral parts, which I’ve downloaded, but that would be a time-consuming task.

Worth contacting the librarians of orchestras who've recorded it (I see the BBCNOW have, I assume in not the reduced version) to see if they have a copy you could borrow?
