    11 November CotW Bill Evans

When R3 called for subjects having not featured in the programme to mark its 70th year, I suggested Bill Evans, although I rather doubt they took any notice of any suggestions received. Looking forward to hearing these.

I shall listen to this with interest. As was noted here the other day, BE doesn't spring to mind as a composer, tho of course he wrote loads, but any excuse to hear him on the radio is fine by me.

That's the one everyone knows, yes.

He wasn't exactly among Miles' sidemen in getting no credit for ages.

any or no excuse will do an hour a day of Bill Evans for a week is a sweet delight, never mind the vinegar rain and cold clouds outside .... hunker down with good ol' R3!

That's how I started out on jazz; it turned out to be compound interest.
