Did I hear that next week’s Composer of the Week would be Frantz Liszt? I was very much looking forward to this;
It’s Lully: 21-25 October

To read a great musician's take on Liszt, try pp133-147 of Brendel's "The Veil of Order". At a recent concert Peter Donohoe prefaced a performance of the whole of Années year 2 with an eloquent little speech about Liszt which commented sadly on the Cali-Throppers view of him. Your loss
I'm currently working my way through the Hyperion Leslie Howard complete Liszt piano works....

Though one cannot like all music, and one should not have to apologise for one's æthetics mores. Though perhaps one should desist in slighting the æsthetic pleasures of others. (It was, however, only meant as a bit of Friday night hi-jinx (and an 'in' joke), nothing more).It loved to happen. -- Marcus Aurelius

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Seriously, Liszt was CoW not that long ago. Though it would take more than one week to do justice to his remarkable life , one of the most extraordinary of any composer of his or any other day. The format barely scratches the surface.
