I can’t remember where I read it or heard it, though it was only yesterday (I think), but it does seem that the repeat of this CoW is part of ‘celebration of British music’.
      • Do we think Purcell as a ‘British’ composer?
      • If it is a celebration, why not make a new programme to ‘celebrate’? It would have been very interesting to have a CoW of several British composers and investigate what makes British composers’ works unique.
      • If it had to be a repeat, surely they could have dug in the archive deeper rather than picking up the one that was happened to be near the surface?

I don’t know… It looks as if their heart is not in it. Not that I have any complaints at all about a week of Purcell’s music but that’s beside the point.

Purcell washes whiter, and so is definitely a British composer.
