I thought the Composerthons (Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, & others) were one of Wright's shoddiest ideas - devoted for up to two weeks to the works of a single composer, one after another after another: no way to respect the Music - just a pseudo-cultural gorging equivalent to Mr Creosote's dining habits.
But devoting 26 weeks of CotW (which these days focusses almost entirely on biographical matters anyway) isn't a bad way to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of one of humanity's greatest thinkers. Plenty of (I hope) other Music and discussion in between the programmes - and (I hope) a variety of different contributors talking about a variety of different topics with Donald MacLeod. Could be one of the gems in R3's history, if done properly ... "could be", I say ...Numquam Satis!
