Yep, the Naxos complete cycle probably just edges it, on another day I might think differently.
Don't forget MA's own recordings, No 4 on Lyrita, No 3 on Everest and the EMI twofer that includes 1,2 & 5, not sure of the availability though

    MA conducting No 6 here

Malcolm Arnold: Symphony No 6, Op 95. [Malcolm Arnold-BBC Northern Symphony Orchestra-premiere, June 28,1968].

The BBC TV documentary and the Andrew Penny Naxos symphony box were my way into Arnold a few years ago.

That is so weird as not an hour previous to your post Hickox came up as download only on Amazon. I almost wonder whether a few forumites doing a search motivates Bezos’s algorithms to get a few more in the warehouse !

The Chandos website itself says they are out of stock of the CDs - wait to see if they decide to re-stock the set of pressed discs ? (That is, CDs/SACDs as we know them)

And excellent, they are too. I collected them individually as they were issued in the 1990s. Remarkable works, all of them.

Thank you, Jayne, that sounds like the one I'll go for.

I am more than happy with the Todd Handley survey which, fortunately, I accumulated in earlier manifestations of boxed sets.

That Sony box was a good set, not only of the Symphonies but a good mini survey of MA’s output!

Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I know this was few weeks ago, but it's left a lasting impact on me and I'm exploring MA music and the pleasures it unfolds is amazing. Such a same in his anniversary I can find no concerts to go to, to hear his music live.

On first reading I thought you were embarking on a masters degree. I agree - he could do fun, innovation and serious composition!
