    Harrison Birtwistle (b. 1934) 28/10/19 - 1/11/19

His output is going to be dealt with chronologically, it says in RT - which will make a nice change!

I just caught the last twenty minutes, so most of Tragoedia; I have the recording they used of this piece but it has been years since I played it, I liked it very much. I'll catch up the rest of it later.

I am so much enjoying this week's COTW: I've always enjoyed most of Birtwistle's music, about which he talks so beautifully, and what it seeks to represent, I could just listen to him chuntering on forever.

I used to wonder whether Carlo Curley was a name invented for showbiz purposes but it was indeed his real name. Sorry for going slightly off topic.
