    - sounds an excellent plan for everybody involved.

That's what I read, MickyD Thanks! I think that's quite a big thing to do, from an ensemble that you formed and nurtured yourself, then allowing someone else to take over?

I agree, bbm, and quite a noble gesture, too, in my opinion. Paul Agnew as director seems ideal, bearing in mind how often he has sung with Les Arts Florissants.

Like with The Sixteen, now. HC seems to be getting Eamon Duggan to direct the choir.

This was my first chance to listen to a full COTW all the way through, by using the bbc Iplayer radio "my radio" feature which allows me to track my progress at work (new phone). My classical knowledge is next to zero but I know I like Baroque and so this was a treat. Not so keen on this week's though!

If you know you like Baroque music, join the What Baroque and Early Music Are You Listening To thread on this board and the Early Music Show board. Lots of treasures and treats. And belatedly, welcome to the Forum.
