The Missa on this morning's programme was wonderful. Could some nice person blend this thread with the other one on the subject in progress, please?

As no one was forthcoming, I did it instead.

          But you underestimate yourself, ferney!

          Many thanks.

I wondered if ardy had deliberately planted a separate flag on this in the Choral precincts, for those that may only perambulate in those sacred cloisters....

Oh, Lor'! You've got me worried now: those sacred cloisters have mean streets. It's like a Dan Brown novel for the unwary ...

I had indeed only posted a heads-up on The Choir to alert those in the sacred cloisters that Rubbra was the CotW. It's all gone a bit belly up. But there you go.

Another programme that I have really enjoyed listening too. Especially the St Dominic Mass. Well worth acquiring the CD!

The last piece on COTW was credited to

                    Benedict Rubbra

I think we should get it straight: continuity announcers have not necessarily listened to every programme that's on immediately before their announcements. Benedict Rubbra was a guest on the programme. 'Someone' messed up with the continuity script which was used by two different announcers.

Though far be it from me
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Ah.... well that's poor... But we can absolve Ms Derham, it would appear.

Allow me to make the necessary amendments!

                          Not necessarily!
She might be expected to know that Edmund (father) was the composer.
Benedict is an artist (one of his paintings is used as the cover of the CD coupling the violin concerto and Ireland's piano concerto).

Well I agree - but so might Ian Skelly, or the producers... or anyone involved in the process!

So unfair to single Ms Derham out, I tend to think...

Indeed, but equally so unnecessary to mention her at all when she's not even involved.

Anyway, now that Mary Berry's voted to leave(!) Bake Off along with its other two female presenters, her place will surely be taken by Katie, won't it? (Katie goes to Hollywood, peut-être); if so, she'll presumably have less time for R3 in any case...

Well, not sure I'd go that far - she was involved, and was one of those who ideally would have spotted / corrected the error...
