    George Gershwin

    Very much enjoying listening to the series on this great composer and passing it around to friends here in Australia. Gershwin has been a huge favourite since I was 14 and I've found a friend in our music group who's a huge fan too. There isn't much new information as I've read all the biographies of GG but it's a buzz hearing recordings I haven't heard before.

    Sorry, I see that I should have posted this in "Composer of the Week" (if somebody could move it please!).

    I've heard bits from the two programmes so far, and enjoyed what I've heard. I only know the broad strokes of GG's short life... so I was for example fascinated to hear that he and Fred Astaire became mates in their teenage years after meeting in a record store where young George was working...
