This Dance COTW is an exercise in pointlessness. Not a single “insight” worth hearing - who cares ?
It was however a pleasure to hear the peerless Duke Ellington’s superb solo on ‘Take The A Train’. But is it dance music ? Quite possibly ..
I was told once by a very reliable source that the Basie band had their own lyrics for ‘One O’Clock Jump ‘ their usual play out music. They went :
”That’s the end , the dance is over , mother……rs all go home.”
Fits the notes beautifully…
