I shan’t be rushing off to hear more of Bonds’s music
Having caught up with the later episodes, I would revise this: her orchestral work Montgomery Variations is a bit of a discovery for me, I’ve downloaded it from Qobuz and given it a couple of listens. I like it - it’s an advantage of course that it’s been given a performance by an excellent orchestra (RSNO). It also seems to me much more engaging than anything I’ve ever heard by Florence Price!
An interesting week of programmes

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Also a piano piece, which was presented to conclude one of the other programmes, evidenced an interest in more modernistic harmonic approaches that caught me unawares.
