    Having caught up with the later episodes, I would revise this: her orchestral work Montgomery Variations is a bit of a discovery for me, I’ve downloaded it from Qobuz and given it a couple of listens. I like it - it’s an advantage of course that it’s been given a performance by an excellent orchestra (RSNO). It also seems to me much more engaging than anything I’ve ever heard by Florence Price!

    An interesting week of programmes

      Also a piano piece, which was presented to conclude one of the other programmes, evidenced an interest in more modernistic harmonic approaches that caught me unawares.
