Regarded by some as Mexico's greatest composer - Aaron Copland thought so - this particular Chávez was previously paired with the, for me, more interesting but more individualistic Silvestre Revueltas on COTW; the wonderful Ondaline de la Martínez is once more on hand to provide a helpful steer with her enlightened insights on history, context and personalities.

I too have always found Revueltas the more interesting composer, and the more Mexican of the two.
